Brand story

In the eyes of many people, a fifteen-year career in the advertising industry means stability, abundance and success. But for me, although those years enabled me to accumulate valuable experience and constantly refine myself in the world of creativity and vision, I was still unable to fill a void in my heart. The pace of advertising is fast and the progress of projects is urgent, yet my heart is often drawn to another slow and gentle rhythm - that is the world of ceramic creation.

I clearly remember that after finishing my work at the advertising agency, I often set aside some time to get in touch with the soil and feel the power of its shaping in my hands. The texture and plasticity of the soil have given me a way to have a new dialogue with the world. Gradually, I realized that this sense of satisfaction from creation is something that no matter how much achievement I have in the advertising industry, it cannot replace. So, after continuous thinking and trying, I made a bold decision - to resign and embark on a brand new journey.

In 2019, I founded Rosalitacup in California with a like-minded good friend. Starting from a small studio, we infuse our dreams and passion into the clay and glaze colors, allowing them to become unique works on the dining table under the baptism of the kiln fire. The starting point of starting a business is not easy. Without the resources and stability of the advertising industry, what we have to face are various challenges in the operation, design and production of handcrafted ceramic stores. But every time I see a vessel being born from clay to a finished product, that sense of satisfaction and joy makes me even more convinced that this is the path I truly want to take.

At Rosalitacup, every piece of work is not the result of assembly line production, but rather the result of warm and manual labor. Most of my time is devoted to the creation and design of ceramics, from conceiving patterns, to repeatedly experimenting with glaze colors, and then adjusting the firing temperature and time over and over again. I enjoy incorporating inspiration from nature into my works, which could be the veins of a leaf, the color of a flower, or the soft light and shadow of the waves under the California sun. The little things in life can all turn into marks on ceramics.

We hope that Rosalitacup is not merely the name of tableware, but represents a way of life. Tableware is not merely a tool; it is an important part of the sense of ceremony in life. Whether it's a cup of coffee in the morning or a dinner shared by the whole family, those containers that hold food will all become warm fragments in memory. For this reason, we hope that through Rosalitacup, people can have a moment of peace and tenderness in their busy lives.

As a founder, I am well aware of the differences between handmade ceramics and fast-moving consumer goods. They may have some irregular edges or tiny traces of craftsmanship, but it is precisely these imperfections that constitute their uniqueness and authenticity. Every cup, bowl or plate is an irreplaceable existence, just like every story and every life.

My experience in the advertising industry has also given me a clearer vision of Rosalitacup. In advertisements, we focus on how to convey the brand's philosophy and how to evoke visual and emotional resonance among people. In the world of ceramics, I also hope that Rosalitacup can convey our original intention: to persist in craftsmanship, to persist in originality, and to persist in making objects a warm bond between people and life.

Since 2019, we have made countless attempts and breakthroughs. From the initial small-batch production to gradually establishing a stable customer base and then being recognized by an increasing number of people who love handicrafts and the aesthetics of life, Rosalitacup has steadily moved forward and established its own pace. Customers often tell us that when they use our works in their daily lives, they feel a special kind of joy and comfort. For me, this is the greatest affirmation. This means that our works are not merely ceramics; they are also carriers of emotions between people.

As a creator, I always maintain a mindset of learning and exploration. The world of ceramics is infinitely vast, and every firing process may bring unexpected surprises and changes. It is precisely this uncontrollability and contingency that make ceramics more charming. The kiln fire is like a teacher who tests one's patience. It has taught me humility and patience, and also made me more aware of cherishing every piece of work that eventually emerges.

Nowadays, Rosalitacup is not merely a brand; it has become a part of my life. It has witnessed my transformation from the advertising industry to ceramic creation, the courage to pursue my dreams, and also the efforts and perseverance I have shared with my friends. On this path, we hope to continue adhering to the purity and texture of craftsmanship, and constantly explore more possibilities of ceramics and life.

In the future, we hope that Rosalitacup can enter more people's lives, allowing the warmth of handcrafted ceramics to accompany more families and more dining tables. We also hope to convey through our works an idea: life should not merely be a hurried trajectory; it needs brief pauses and gentle embellishments. It is precisely these small daily details that constitute the true happiness of life.

For me, quitting my job to start a business is not an adventure but a return. Return to the truest self, return to the things I love the most. Rosalitacup witnessed all of this and made me deeply feel that the most beautiful thing in life is to be able to create touching works in the way one loves.

This is the story of Rosalitacup. A story about passion, courage and perseverance, as well as a warm journey between objects and life, and among people. May every piece of Rosalitacup's work accompany you through those ordinary yet warm days.
